UC Berkeley is No Longer a Safe Place for Jewish Students
Chancellor Carol Christ Must Take Action NOW to Punish Radical Jew Haters
In December, a group called Bears for Palestine organized a public campus display to honor well-known terrorists, including convicted murderers. Jewish students and their allies on campus were understandably upset. Last week, the student government held a meeting to discuss a very Bears for Palestine came out in force.
According to media reports, "Jewish students were repeatedly harassed, heckled and threatened with physical threats of violence." Disturbing video from the meeting quickly leaked onto social media. This was the second time in the past three months that this radical group organized a public spectacle to bully and intimidate Jewish students. But this type of action is nothing new for them. This same group was suspended by the University in 2002 after 79 members were arrested. This time, the Chancellor appears to have no appetite for justice. She says that "students who support the Palestinian cause have a right to celebrate those they see as fighters for that cause." She claims that she is "not interested" in who is to blame for last week's student government meeting that devolved into an anti-Semitic riot.
SIGN THE PETITION to tell Chancellor Christ to do the right thing, condemn the display that celebrating violence against Jews and suspends Bears for Palestine for threatening and harassing Jewish students by glorifying terrorists who murdered Jews.
